Never be late in Japan
Got a meeting with a Japanese friend?
Make sure to be there 5min before!
You might know that Japanese people are very punctual.
Of course there are some people who always come late. But they feel really bad (hopefully), and say sorry (hope they say that from the heart) when they are late at least.
This all comes from Japanese punctuality. The environment in Japan brought us the image that being late is a bad thing.
Environment?
(Rapid, bound to Tokyo, 5min late)
does 5min late make such an infuluence? should it be shown in the board like that? is it really that much?
yes (for Japanese)
We are always scared of being late for office or school. We don't wanna be scolded, you know?
but don't worry
as long as we get this magical ticket, there is nothing to worry about!
(This paper shows that the train was late for 5min today. We are terribly sorry for this inconvenience . )
Yes, get this piece of paper! And hand it in to the supervisor or teacher! We can prove that we came late as the train was late!
Everyone will be defintely convinced! we won't give them a chance to get upset:p
so all the Japanese people have got used to this environment.
