Hokkaido -the northernmost tip of Japan-
Most tourists to Japan would chose Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka for their first destination, and many people already know that those cities are great. But, aren't you tired of the places crowded with too many people...? Don't worry, there are still many places to see in Japan.
Hokkaido is the northernmost tip of Japan, and the average temperature during summer is 17.5 degrees Celsius (63.5 degrees Fahrenheit), and during winter is -7.5 degrees Celsius (18.5 degrees Fahrenheit). In this huge island, you have many choises to go such as Sapporo (prefectural capital), Shiretoko, and Hakodate. Sapporo snow festival, Asahiyama zoo, Shiretoko-goko (five lakes) are some of the popular spots for tourists, and the night view in Sapporo is breathtaking.
Fresh sea food is one of the reasons this place attracts so many people. You can enjoy some delicious crabs, salmon roe (ikura), sea urchin roe (uni), and many kinds of fish. Hokkaido is also famous for ramen, and you will see many ramen restaurants there.
Rokkatei (六花亭) is a famous sweets house in Hokkaido. Now its cookies and cakes are eaten throuout Japan, but its cafe is located only in Hokkaido. I bet you will want to have some sweets there after eating salty ramen!
Hokkaido is the place you want to go in all seasons. Too hot in summer and wanna cool down? Visit Hokkaido. Wanna see some snow in winter? Visit Hokkaido. Looking for the best sea food or ramen? Visit Hokkaido!!!
